Hello Melissa, now this is a truly lovely twenty syllables, sending out a sincere message that we should all adhere to. We sometimes forget, until we look around and observe the conditions in some part of this huge world. Good Luck in the contest with this strong contender. Regards Dorothy x

This is very profound and inspirational. I like the use of the words "peace," "grateful," and "contentment." One being the goal, and solution, and achievement of the other, is encouraging and attainable, for all of us. This is a great use of the 20 syllable format. I wouldn't change a thing about this post. The solitary tree sitting on top of a rock illustrates well the message of this poem. Thank you for sharing your insightful wisdom with us. Have a wonderful upcoming week.
Take care,
Jesse

A very well-written twenty syllable poem. We can find peace within our soul when we are grateful for the things we have and that is all we need to soothe our souls.
NS I looked at a similar photo this morning but decided on another.

Good luck with your contest entry. The photo was so apt for your little poem. Indeed, contentment brings peace. In today's crazy world, so many just want more and more material things, they have no peace only hunger. Thanks for sharing.

We can't always have what we love. But we can learn to love what we have. That is how we find true contentment and peace of mind. This is a beautiful piece!

Beautiful words that reflect that peaceful picture! I agree - everything falls into place when we take time to give thanks for all that we have. Gratitude to God really does "soothe the soul!" Best wishes in the contest!

You have made excellent use of your twenty syllables in this wise and moving piece. Those who always want more will never be satisfied; they will live and die wanting-MORE.
