LOL! Now that's quite an Alice in Wonderland world that you created, which is clearly for adults ;) - for we can't bring chaperons and need a mask for confidentiality (I chose to believe this over that pandemic mask ;).
I loved the fancy nonsense that's alluring a slightly dangerous, but what really got me is the 'pontoon plane'! LOL! How can you conjure that up? WOW! Silly, fun and clearly coming from a place if joy - which the reader totally feel along with you!
Thank you for this journey!
Love,
J

Above the deepest darkest pit
And underneath the tallest tree
Come join me for banana splits
With just a spot of herbal tea"
Wow! Don't tell me that this hilarious and unusual "banana splits
with just a spot of herbal tea" just popped out while you were rocking yourself on your veranda on a late afternoon, Madam?Wow! Its rhythmical flow and rhymed are impressive, too as it invites you to join in. I do love Madam and may I ask if you were also portrayed in the 'Aphrodisiac Art' by the surrealist artist Michael Cheval in that time? Great fantastic hilarious work and chapeau, my dear Poetess!

Hello Yvette, what a fun write and so well written. I enjoyed the flippant humour at which you excel. Good abab rhyme - a very good pairing of
xylophone/chaperone. An all round good read and excellent entry to the contest. Warm regards and good luck. Dorothy xx

This poem was a little confusing and I wasn't always sure what to make of it- but I'm giving you 5 stars because I think that was your intention! It was very easy to read, it rolled right off the tongue.

Haha, YM, I enjoyed your 'nonsense.' I did not want it to end. Your lines flow smoothly with great rhymes. I love the whimsical story told. Your image choice is perfect. Great job with the rhymes, of course, since this is a rhyming contest. I've had 'one of your days.'
Thanks for sharing. Best wishes.
Respectfully, Jan

Aaaack!! You know, at mom and dad's, I woke up to 88-90 degrees with 100% humidity nearly every morning... the highs made it to 99-100 and the air just felt like it was HANGING on you, making it almost harder to breathe... and to think that's where I grew up! LOL! ;) :)

I like the image of fantasy you create in your words. We all need fantasy now and your words take the reader to another place. Love the mention of the xylophone, I think it is the first poem I have read that mentions this instrument. Excellent poetic form and a smooth flow of lines.

I do not have the faintest idea of what this poem was about; however, I enjoyed it immensely. I kept thinking that the "jaberwalkie" would make an appearance. Guess he had the weekend off. Stay well - Jerry

Sounds to me like you have a dose of the munchies while tripping (splits; your herbal tea has spots)!
Your absurdity is measured well in poetic metre, delivering a kaleidoscope of sensory imagery.

In our world of uncertainties- I am always trying to find something new to brighten my day and make it different from all the other 'normal' days.

Thanks.
And thanks for sharing your decompressing pen!
