Thank you for the explanation below the poem. I appreciated the education provided by your entry. I do not have much knowledge concerning the Chinese mythos. I did not know the cherry blossom tree held such significance.

Imagery resonates with me as I live in the "Cherry Capitol of the World!"
And truly, cherries do possess a wonderful healing elixir "amidst a landscape in toil" whether it be figurative or human!

Hmm, very interesting. Even in natural disaster the Cherry tree stands. That is because in Chinese and Japanese cultures the Cherry tree holds a mythical position. I had always wondered why the cheery tree was so popular in Asian literature and art.
