I can see the sun going across the sky. In my mind there is a small almost invisible wave that moves the light around as if it were a wave in the ocean.

Your words capture a clear image of the sun and its impact on us. The sun can increase heat which shows how powerful the sun is. "Shimmering cross the landscape" is a vivid line that shows the sun in action and portrays the sun as a character. Excellent use of words and best wishes for the contest.

The alliteration is superb!
Great word economy too.
Excellent personification.
Great flow.
The consonance and alliteration of S is particularly applaudable and the alliteration of H and D prove fine counterpoint to them too!
