How did you know this would touch me so deeply? I had tears. As you probably know by now, (I talk about 'em alot in my poems, etc.), my daughters are 19 and 21. There is nothing sweeter, or more powerful, than the connection between moms and daughters. The photo is astonishingly beautiful. I wonder if it is her.
The moment our girls leave home, or show signs of growing up, it comes over us in waves. Panic, awe, pride, sadness, for they are on their own. But that is where they are supposed to be. We raised them for that, we have done out job well when they step out into the world and are happy where they choose to go.
Even if it's far away.
This poem personifies in every way the wish we have for those grown girls...all good and nothing evil, that they may have strength to overcome obstacles and that they find real love that endures and a friend or partner that would do anything to keep them safe.
Outstanding in form, craft, and language. I especially liked how you capitalized the words HOPE and FAITH in the last stanza as you say "bigger than" as you emphasize the two are already huge:) Really nice. Thank you for sharing this with me.

It's funny--as I was reading this, I was thinking that it reminded me of I Corinthians, and lo and behold, you quote it below! What a lovely wish for you daughter--and I think you reflect here what we all wish for our children. Very nicely said!

This is a very nice verse for your daughter. I hope all your wishes come true. You have excellent wishes for her.. I didn't see a thing wrong with your verse.

This is a good picture of her. She looks like a very special daughter.

Best wishes.

Beautiful poem. It gave me goosebumps. What a beautiful gift to your daughter on her 21st birthday. "The kind of hope that brings you light in dark places" a wish for anyone we hold close to our hearts.

Unconditionally

When you give love
Give it unconditionally
Put a smile on every face you see
Live for joy and joyful you will be

Spread a little kindness
With every word you speak
Smiling is infectious
Do it all the time

Live for love
Love to live
Give for the sake of giving
But when you love
Love unconditionally... John

that was a beautiful piece of poetry you have written
make sure your children see it... John

Awe Jewell this is so beautiful, as is that young lady in the picture, is that actually your daughter? She is lovely. Such depth in your words, a true mother's love as you impart your wisdom on your baby as she reaches the official adult age! LOL Bet she can't wait to hit the town!

A really beautiful write and wonderful wishes for her.

Happy birthday, Margo!

I thought that the beginning of this was cliche' in places. For example: "depth of soul", and "moving mountains". Otherwise, I thought this was exceptional. I thought it was a nice tribute. I don't know Margo, but "happy b-day".

Hi ya' IS--How fortunate your beautiful daughter is to have a mom that pens poetry for her...I love the strong, clear message of your piece based on the scripture verse...Can I make one small editing suggestion? (Why of course, Lark--be my guest!)

Rather than: "Unordinary faith"

What do you think of "Extraordinary faith"...?

I'll let you decide, because it's already wonderful--Birthday wishes to your daughter, and Bravo to you...

Sincerely,
LarkSong
