I like these interesting frog facts. I didn't know though that their is a tongueless frog. I also didn't know how long that they live and their incredible tongue strength. Thanks for sharing this informative and well written work. I enjoyed reading this. Well done!

Thank you so much, Jeffrey, for another of your lovely reviews. It is incredible, isn't it, how they can lift such heavy loads with their tongues!! Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xxx

Sandra, I like your style in writing children's poems about animals in a simple way and then follow it up with an explanation with more facts about a unique animal. Keep writing and stay safe. Bill

Thank you so much, Bill, for your kind comments on my writing for children, I have always enjoyed writing fun poems for them. And I'm really happy that you liked all the information about the frogs, I certainly learnt a lot! Have a lovely day, my friend. :)) Sandra xx

Aww, thank you so much for those lovely six stars, Drew, and the fabulous review!! I found out about Graham's art when I asked him to try and do me some pictures for my 'Casper the Caterpillar' book for the very young. Those books sold so well because they loved his drawings. Of course, he takes all the credit for the sales!! LOL. (He's still recovering from the broken nose!) Thanks for catching that nit, my friend, I've been back and corrected it. Have a wonderful day! :)) Sandra xx

How cute your hubby made the picture.
What a kind gesture to do this book for your grandson, Eric. He must be so delighted!
Is the letter F repeated here on purpose?--
Ff is for Frog
This has interesting facts, and I like the combination of poetry and prose. I love the face that they can lift four times thier weight with one tongue! Whew! Wow! Love this line to give perspective:
That would be like us humans lifting a motorbike or refrigerator with our tongue!
A few spag suggestions for your consideration(as I know you love those, LOL):
The frog sits down so quietly(--)
his mind's on just one thing,(:)
he's waiting for his lunch to come;
his tongue's coiled like a spring,(.)
t(T)hen(,) when a fly comes whizzing by(,)
the frog's tongue zooms out fast;
t(T)he fly is stuck,(.) t(T)he frog's in luck,(--)
his meal has come at last!
With above suggestions:
The frog sits down so quietly--
his mind's on just one thing:
he's waiting for his lunch to come;
his tongue's coiled like a spring.
Then, when a fly comes whizzing by,
the frog's tongue zooms out fast;
The fly is stuck. The frog's in luck--
his meal has come at last!
Witty alliteration:
Fun Facts on Frogs
*
Frogs lay their eggs in water(,) and then they hatch into tadpoles.
*Tadpoles look more like baby fish than frogs(,) as they have long finned tails and breathe through their gills, just like fish.
*
Once the tadpole becomes a frog, he will live on the land, but their habitat must always be near water. This is because they will die if their skin dries out.
Pluralization does not match. Suggest:
Once tadpoles becomes a frogs, they will live on the land, but their habitat must always be near water. This is because they will die if their skin dries out.
*
Frogs(') tongues are amazing; they have so many uses.
* Their mouths is plural, so IT IS should be THEY ARE in the latter clause:
Second: Unlike us, their tongues are not attached to the back of their mouths, instead it is attached to the front.
Second: Unlike us, their tongues are not attached to the back of their mouths, instead they attached to the front.
*
Third: Another amazing thing a frog can do with its tongue is lift something 4(four) times its body weight.
*
The few tadpoles that will survive from the 4,000(four-thousand) plus eggs into adulthood, will live as frogs for between 4(four) and 15 (fifteen) years.
Super WOW:
One other useful tool that frogs have, is they can see forwards, sideways and upwards all at the same time.
This was fascinating. Thanks!

Thank you so much, Rama, for your wonderful review and catching all those spags! I hadn't noticed that I'd not pluralized them properly! I must have been having a huge senior moment, thank goodness you came along. I have to get this right because Eric's school is taking my books I've written for Eric. He's now at a special needs school and they are amazing people. My grandson is doing so well with them. I'm so glad you liked my letter F for frog. Oh, I noticed in many of Alphabet books they started each letter with both upper and lower case: Aa Bb ... So I thought it might be an idea to do the same. Again this is something I'll discuss with the head teacher. Thank you again, my friend. :)) Sandra xx
I hope you're keeping well in these awful times? Graham and I have to stay in lock down for a further few weeks because of our old ages. :( The good news is, he can't escape the list of jobs I have for him!! LOL. We do them together and make them fun. Have a lovely day, my friend. Hugs back! Sandra xx

Lucky Graham! I'll bet he loves having a to do list he can actually attend to. Wonderful news about Eric's school! My mom and I are also continuing lock down. (She is 85).
Have a glorious day, dear friend!
Hugs,

Hello Sandra. Frogs are curious creatures. According to my wife, they are some of the most distasteful things that ever lived. We had a pool many years ago. One spring, a frog stumbled into the pool and drowned. My wife would not get into the pool all summer. We have a pond nearby and I cannot believe how loud some of the Bullfrogs can be in the summer.

We had a frog and thought nothing of it, until I came out one morning and saw him with a fish hanging out of his mouth. I quickly took a photo because I knew Graham would say I'd imagined it. (I'm not fond of the beastly things, either) Well, he caught the frog, and took it a mile down our lane and put him safely by a river. The next morning, we came out to have our breakfast in the garden, and he was back!! It took ages to catch the little blighter after that. But we did and took him a lot farther away. That time he got the hint and didn't come back! LOL. They are curious creatures, I agree. Thanks for sharing your story, Robert. Have a lovely day. :) Sandra xx

I really like this story and think it will be riveting for a young reader, even one with a learning disability. P.S., My father is named Eric and he has dysgraphia, which according to my research is a reading disability in which people have trouble writing or copying their work.

Hi Chloe, welcome to Fanstory! You'll love it here. I had to smile reading your father's name is Eric and that he has a similar learning disability, because my grandson Eric's big sister's name is Chloe! How weird is that? Thank you for your really lovely review, I'm delighted you enjoyed reading my letter F. Have a wonderful day! :)) Sandra xx

Your husband's art is so cute. it's perfect to illustrate a book for kids. I enjoyed reading this addition, Sandra. Your poem has some great info and is well-written. I like the end rhymes and the luck/stuck internal rhyme. The info after the poem is written in an easy to understand manner. I believe that it will encourage kids to want to learn more and do some research of their own. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

You have given me an idea, Jan. When I start getting the book ready for publishing, I will leave a page after each animal for kids to find their own interesting facts and write them in the book. :)) You get a bonus point for that!! Thank you so much for this lovely review, my friend. I'm delighted you are still finding them interesting. I'll pass your compliment on to my hubby, he'll be chuffed! Have a lovely day, my friend and stay safe and well. Big hugs. Sandra xxx

This one is delightful. With head nodding rhythm, I sailed right through from start to finish. The image is adorable. Now to your notes - I have to admit I was a little grossed out about their using their eyeballs to eat. Well, kids like to be grossed out so I'm sure Eric won't be bothered by it. As for me, I need to get me some Pepto Bismol, haha. Hugs, Lou

-Very good artwork and
nice presentation for the frog, Sandra.
-A good poem and lots of fun facts.
-I never knew so much about
a frog before!
-The tongue is quite fascinating;
it would be a good feature for
all heavy lifting:)
-The eyes are cool, too, just think
of all the things you could see at one,
like being in the grocery story and
spotting all the items you need with
one turn of the head.
-This was very interesting and fun, my friend.

Thank you so much, Pam, for all the stars and the lovely review. I'm so pleased you enjoyed reading it. I couldn't get over how strong their tongues are, and I don't think I want to be having eyes that pop backwards into my mouth. But being able to see in all directions at the same time could be very useful. lol. Thanks, my friend. Sending you a hug! :)) Sandra xxx

You are very welcome and deserving, Sandra. I wouldn't want the eyes popping either, but seeing in all directions could be useful and save neck aches, too.
