Fluffy, little family tree is getting a new leaf/Paige added on. I like the artistic concept and the haiku, too. Naturally occurring long 'e' sound in first line in 'leaf' and 'tree' is nice.

Thank you so much, Dolly. I appreciate you checking this out and knowing that you have smiled over it. My two children were winter and spring arrivals. I have one grandson, and I had a lot of fun doing the picture for this. xo

Whether true or not for your own family, it is a good verse for this contest.

Spring does start with a new lease/leaf on life (-:

Thanks for the peek.

Mark

P.S. When we awoke on Saturday, we had a dusting of snow! The forecast did not come true, which had predicted 3-5 inches.

Wow...I hope all the plants are doing okay. We hardly even had a dusting in Memphis this year...tons of rain though. Thank you for reviewing, Mark. Stay safe!

Hello Janet. The artwork and its symbolism is very creative. I like the metaphor of the new leaf on the tree representing a new addition to the family. Of course your haiku meets the standard for the style.

Good luck in the contest.

Robert

Spangle,

Your haiku is beautiful, simple and clear what you tried to say about the new leaf on the family tree. The photo is so fitting for your haiku. I like it very much. The new daughter arrives in the first day of spring, and adds to the family tree. How sweet? Good job!! Thanks for sharing. Happy writing:-)

No errors saw. Good job!

Hi Janet - this is a delightful well written harbinger of Spring and the future. Great art work - you are obviously multi-talented. Just curious, was this written as an announcement? If so Congratulations - Jerry

LOL Since I'm 76, I doubt that I'll be giving birth any time soon. However, I do have a seven year old grandson. My two children were winter and spring babies. The inspiration for this just popped into my head. That happens a lot with my postings. Thank you so much for your wonderful review, Jerry. It's truly appreciated!

Congratulations! I love my babies and grands. They are all so special. Three of our grandchildren share the same Spring birthday this week. Beautiful and aptly illustrated. Sending you my best today as always, and my best for the contest,
Sally xoxo

An amazingly innovative way of announcing an expectant birth. Bravo for your imagination. It's always the plain and simple truth that evades us until someone like you comes along and shows it like it is. Thanks for sharing your smashing idea.

For as much as I know about haikus this is a well crafted poem. I love the simplicity of it but also how the simple words come together to make something very deep and meaningful.
