Love this, Sally! Your presentation is gorgeous. I line the whimsy of it. I like the symbols in-between the verses that is rain pouring down. The formatting of your lines adds to the enjoyment. Your choice of video is perfect, too. Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

Children would probably like this cleverly composed poem about rain falling on a leaky umbrella until the one holding it runs home to be safe and dry with Teddy. Using rows of slashes to represent the rain is a nice touch, and the vertical form both fits the theme and allows quick reading, even by young children. Nicely done, aptly illustrated, and well accompanied by the chosen music.

I'm actually wrote this for Sophia. She turned six last week. She loves her stuffed animals. I cried rain drops writing this because I miss her and her brothers so. Writing anything is a good outlet for me to connect with friends and family. Thank you for the always kind review and comments. I'm glad you enjoyed this.
Sending you my best today as always,
    Sal :))

You are welcome, Sal. The effect of "social distancing" on families and other interpersonal relationships is sad, as time lost cannot be relived. I'm sure that Sophia will like your poem. -- Mike

Very nicely composed and illustrated, Sally. This is a playful piece that reminds us of the comfort of teddy bears. I have one that's uber soft and cuddly. Marilyn

This poem stands wonderfully on its own, but I think it would also be a great start to a child's book. I love the picture and it flows really well. If it isn't stretched out into book length I would love to see it be part of a book of children's poetry.

Thank you, Puzzle! This is called form poetry and it's one of the many forms that I have tried recently. This is a lot of fun for me and I actually did this for my granddaughter for her sixth birthday. Sending you my best day as always, Sally xo

Enjoyed your fun and whimsical little rain poem that also works as a kind of shape poem giving me the visual image of rain falling down especially with the intermittent '/' marks !

This is such a cute poem and it does appeal to the child in me. I love the adorable picture and I also like the fact that you often add some other things to entertains us like the Raindrops Keep Falling song.

This is a very cute poem and I am glad that you shared it with us. I have had days where I would think, my umbrella has a few leaks. LOL This poem could be emotional, if one let it.

Yes, and please let it be emotional if you need it to be. It's meant to be comforting. I wrote it for my granddaughter, Sophia. She misses me so much she FaceTime's me almost every day. She loves her stuffed animals and they join in our conversations. Today, she wanted to play 'Go Fish' over the phone. I told her we'd need to wait for that one because of my eyesight.
Thanks so much for the wonderful and supportive review. Sending you my best today as always,

This was good. Well done. I am sure the kids will like it. I forget if you have Grandchildren or not? I love the old "Raindrops keep falling" song. I remember it on Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.

Yes, five grandchildren. One is already with Jesus. The remaining four live in Florida about two hours away from us. I am going to send this to Sophia who just turned six last week. She loves stuffed animals and writing stories in her young age. My grandchildren hosted my first book signing of What The Blind Girl Saw. It was precious. It was the highlight of my year. I appreciate your wonderful review and generous stars once again. I'm so pleased you enjoyed this. Not the usual poem. I'm so glad you enjoyed and remembered the song.
Sending you my best to you both today as always,
    Sally xoxo
