Hello Rod, this is a lovely tribute to Wordsworth. You liken the cherry trees, in description, to the daffodils in his poem. I particularly like your final stanza. 'Next winter when I'm oft confined......... Wordsworth - As oft upon my couch I lie, in vacant and in pensive mood.......... You have written a lovely poem and I'm sure Wordsworth would have thought so. Lovely accompanying picture. Well done - warm regards Dorothy x

Loved your poem, Rod! I also remember Wordsworth's poem, too and the imagery of the crowd of daffodils remain as clear from high school. But yours is just as wonderful and reads smoothly and I like how you take us through these spring scenes from the ballerina cherry trees and you snapped this experience to savor in winter. Virtual six!

A very well-written poem and tribute to William Wordsworth on his birthday. Taking the reader in a early morning walk to enjoy the beautiful scenes of nature as well as the animals that come to greet.

We've holidayed in the very place William Wordsworth walked, in that most salubrious of location, where he attended school in Hawkshead, in the Lake District, it's like the garden of Eden would be like I'm sure, I was only 50 miles from there. This is beautifully written Rod. It's worth a a read, because it's so beautifully written, blessings, Roy

Rod,

This is really beautiful. I could hear the rhythm and pattern of Wordsworth in these lines. What an achievement. Kudos!

The scenes you brought before me were so pretty - and my, we certainly need these things right now, don't we? *smile* Thank you so much!

Five stars, only because I'm out of the sixes. Beautiful tribute to William Wordsworth. Very recognizable, but not copied. Yes, I saw the seven-line stanzas instead of his six-liners, but that only enhances its authenticity. The first lines of each one are the most significant for me.
His romantic adoration for Nature speaks also clearly in your poem.

Such a pleasure to read this!

Oh no! You have to fix your author's notes!! That pesky troll is up to no good again! But other than that I loved this piece. And I love how you state it will be used as a reflection once winter arrives again. Nice job!
