It might be a blessed not to have this responsibility just now Lisa although the company of a pet would make life a little less boring. Locking us in for such a lengthy period of time is not good for our health, stay safe and I enjoyed your sentimental words here in memory of your cat, love Dolly x

Yes, it's probably good that I don't have another mouth to feed as income is very limited, with no work at the historic home and no outlet for my art.

It is hard to be missing a pet, and I like the way you describe certain elements of a pet here. We have had a feral cat indoors mostly since winter, but warm weather might change her preferences back to what they were last year. There is still some inherent hope in the poem, that there is still a way to write or document what is going on, to remember a beloved pet.

Thanks for your comments. The feral cat may well have realised she likes creature comforts and being feral is hard work.

Oh no! I'm so sorry you couldn't get a cat before the lockdown! Can you call them? Animal shelters here are still needing homes and advertising via the internet. Loved your poem especially the "funshine." I'm so sad for you - please see if they can deliver you a cat.

I would want to choose my own cat (we know they choose us themselves) and now the public is not allowed to go to the animal shelter.
