I am with you on this one, friends with ex-s is not on my to forgive list, but on to forgot aka wipe those memories and faces clean. Life goes on without them and we need to focus on the future and not on the past. Thank you for sharing and good luck with your writings.

Excellent advice--which I strive to follow--though once in a while I get to dwelling on my failures and disappointments. Cheers. LIZ

It is hard to salvage a friendship out of an ex-relationship, but not impossible. When we know someone intimately, it changes everything and we are often blinded whilst we are with them to all their faults and strangely enough they become clear as day when we leave, been there, done that, I could identify with your write Elizabeth and you amused me here too, love Dolly x

Yes, in your case constantly meeting exes would get worse with time. Is there no way to avoid places they frequent?
If I had three in the same city, I would move to a new city or state, start over. To pull up stakes is hard and an extreme measure, but if peace of mind is more important, I would do it for myself. But that's me.

Thank you--I'm puzzled by how some people manage to maintain real friendship. If my husbands were friendworthy instead of the dicks they are, I'd never had cause to divorce them! Thanks for stopping by--you're welcome anytime. Cheers. LIZ

That amazes me too.

Great job with your story. I enjoyed reading it. I agree that exes are better if they live in another state. I didn't find any errors. Stay healthy in our world of evil bugs. Shirley

This is an interesting piece. I like how you say "how demoralizing to devolve". It kind of is! And you are right. Why have the fake friendship as a constant reminder that things didn't work out. The only two people that managed that was Jerry and Elaine! Lol
