I think this is a good entry for the Poem for Spring writing prompt.
This well written and well rhymed verse tells of Spring and rain.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

This springtime poem, Complicated Beauty, is sent skyward as you replace the trite and easy words with the more accurate and elevated vocabulary. Quite impressive and enjoyable.

Wow, Bill!! You just made my weekend... got a great smile on right now that'll last through any of this incessant rain 'round here, so thank you for both your comments and those lovely stars - so awesome! Spring, Spring: get your butt in gear and warm things up! LOL!
I'm so glad you enjoyed my crazy 'big' words... I couldn't resist being a bit 'sarcastic' with the contest definition... so glad you enjoyed!! Take care out there and thank you again! :)

Hello dear Yvette!
No rain here; just more damn snow... in which I made an amazing face-plant about an hour ago! Ah! Such a graceful wonder! No injuries! I bounced!
The photograph attached to your exceptionally well-crafted poem reminds me of our gardens...
But I digress!
"Simple words were forbidden" eh? Musical and creative! But I must ask, Do you prefer the chosen words or simple words? I know I tend to use simple words. I even accepted a challenge by the late Alvin Ethington years ago to write a poem in which words employed had to be 3syllables or more! Loved it that challenge.
Know for a certainty that your poem resonates deeply with me... with or without fancy-dancy words! (This would be a great assignment for students: Write a poem using elevated words, and then re-write using simples synonyms...or vice-versa. Darn! Wish I was still teaching!)
Love ya!

I think the simple ones work best when employed the right way... that is, as long as the words are simple but the song is beautiful! Of course, that might not make any sense, but I'm thinking you know what I mean... then again, it's Friday and I'm just glad to have 'called it a day' on the grading - lol! Got a BAAAD case of the 'procrastinations' today... I blame it on the stupid weather (it's the best scapegoat I've got right now!).... but at least it's not snowing - ugh!!
You're just like me: you just can't shake that 'teacher' thing can you?!! :)
Thank you for the wonderful review and stars, you made my crazy 'exercise in sarcasm' worth it... lol!! :) :) You take care up there and stay warm!! ;) Yvette

What an excellent Kyrielle, I'd have to say this is one of the most language poems I've ever seen, although sometimes the most simple language used has that great command of imagery. But that's not what this contest is about, and as such is w wonderfully balanced and smoothly delivered and rhymed contest entry, an excellent post, well done, blessings, Roy

Very clever! You turned the instructions on their head. Let's face it, the poem might have been boring without all th ose high-falutin' words. Did you know most of them before you started writing the poem? And following the complicated lines with the simple refrain. What a lot of fun.

There were a few that appeared in some synonym listings that I did not know... But it was fun discovering!! Thank you, Darlene!

Though simple words are forbidden lesser grandiose procurement of word choice is acceptable its all about how the flowers grow not so much what happens when they grow.

The tongue-in-cheek humor here is super. rain = water falling from the sky And then lots of 8-cylinder words were thrown in by way of harmonizing with the cumbersome "water falling from the sky."
The pic fits perfectly.

Very nice use of some obscure words that paint a brilliant picture of the beauty of spring and the loveliness of nature. I also learned a few new words and that's always a plus! Excellent. Good luck with the contest

A very well-written poem of Spring. The first rain to wash off the dust is the most wonderful experience to have and see how the water comes from heaven non-stop.

Good job on using the unusual words - also nice to have your notes to learn what the words mean. You could combine this one with the obscure word contest I guess.
