I like your descriptive line. It aptly portrays what you words attempt to show. I can only imagine your pain. I started a fire in my parents new home when I was young. I was alone and the speed and ferocity of the blaze still haunts me. I was able to yank down new curtains and beat it out with only minor damage. I am still petrified of fire though.
Good job with your poem. You should do well.

Your house burned down five years ago? I am so sorry. Wow! I had no idea this one was you. Where did you live before Grant?

Yep... the early morning hours of my 50th birthday - how do you like them apples? LOL! See? This is me being ll smiley on the outside... was a pretty rough year, though. Take care, my Beautiful friend! Good night!

Wow! I can't imagine. And on your birthday! I do all my cooking in the microwave because I am afraid of another grease fire.

It must be heart wrenching to literally see memories go up in smoke. We can rebuild houses. It's much harder to rebuild lives. But don't give up on your dreams. This was just a detour. Thank you for sharing.

How awful to contemplate. I live in an area with destructive wildfires and can imagine losing a home, and everything in it all too well. I've packed an evacuation bag, which is a surreal experience.
I appreciated your poem, which is a very good response to the prompt,
Carol
