A very well written poem with traces of sadness. I can relate, I've been wishing for snow the past few weeks but has no luck. Fingers crossed we might share some soon!

What a wonderful day dream. I remember myself thinking that the 911 event brought everyone together and all were a little nicer to each other for it. Why can't it be like that just because it's the right way to me. This piece made me take a break and pause. good luck in your contest. xoxo Kiwi

The picture is very lovely. It just snowed like what you were wishing for in Newfoundland. It was so extreme. These extremes are not good, but you can dream that it might change people or the way life is today. I get the message of hoping things would just slow down and people would be more caring.
It is great to put thoughts down and be creative. Nice job.

Thank you so much for your review and high rating. I truly appreciate it. I would love to visit Newfoundland. I visited Prince Edward Island once and loved it. It was March at the time and cold, but being from Michigan I loved it. Thank you again so much.

Prince Edward Island is wonderful. Never been to Newfoundland either. Just write your heart out and don?t mind the ratings until you have written for a very long time. Just my two cents. LOL

Trying to encourage you to improve this. It reads mainly like prose. Add some poetic devices like alliteration if you choose. Or a metaphor like, "a heavenly reprieve fell from the sky."

Thank you so much for the 5-star rating and your critique. I do not write much poetry. The free verse thing caught my eye so I put it in there. As I stated at the end of my work, I was just day-dreaming and decided to start putting things down on the computer. I will take a look at your suggestions and see what I can do. Thank you again.

A very well-written free verse poem about human nature that will ignore each other for years until one day when a crisis force them to come together and help each other again.

I think this is a good entry for the Free Verse Poem Contest.
This verse tells of a wish for lots of snow to break the routine.
Well done and I wish you lots of luck with the contest.

Your poem I Wished it Would Snow and Snow was very well written. Your poem very clearly demonstrated the yearning for joy when the stresses of the world could be purged away for a short time of snowy bliss. Your color scheme elevated the theme. I don't have any critiques to make.

Thank you so much for your kind words and review. I am glad to receive a comment on the color scheme. I had no idea what it might do. And thank you for such a high rating.

Very interesting musings. I think most of us sometimes wish for a substantial break from the daily routines, a lull in the rush of activity that characterizes many of our lives. People do change a lot, when we're no longer forced into the everyday sameness of our routines. There was, indeed, an amazing sense of kindness and brotherly love in the aftermath of 9/11, so rarely seen in normal living, and it's so sad that it took a disaster for these qualities to emerge.
Children wish for snow days all the time! It says something about their priorities. Of course, they don't have many responsibilities, either.
Thanks for posting this lovely poem.

It certainly does seem that 'crises' is the catalyst to community 'coming together'.... and that regular times tend to mete out the differences that slowly divide. A wonderful offering for the contest with an awesome reason for the call for snow: Let it snow and let us come together and 'play'! ;) :) LOL! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck at the polls! ;)

This is very beautiful what you have penned and I totally agree with you. There are no freaks of nature as God is in control I believe. You used great words and amazing imagery. I, too, wish it would snow where we could be still for a little while. love and blessings, Teri
