Oh yes, poetry is invariably written from the heart, it can be cerebral, angry, predictive, philosophical, but it's still written from a heart of passion, and can be a multiplicity of genres, but still the heart is part. Beautifully written, great entry, good luck blessings, Roy

I would agree with that statement. That is one thing that sets us poets apart from others who listen with their heads. Or, rather, minds. Either way, I prefer being a poet who listens to the world and to their selves with their hearts. I like the photo used for this piece. It drew me into reading and reviewing this. A young child with their hand over their heart, touching a tree, as though listening intently to its ethereal 'voice'. The child has a grownups hat on, which suggests that they will one day be a poet themselves when their muse strikes them for the very first time. Well thought out, and so true.

This is a simple poem with a strong truth in it. This little boy is a future poet it seems for he seem to be listening to nature and taking it into his heart. It almost seems like he is praying.

How true this poem is. Real poets listen with their hearts. When I write poetry, it is never abstract, difficult to figure out, or very confusing. I write from the heart. I listen with my heart and I write from my heart. Your poem is lovely and the picture is absolutely precious and just the image for this poem.Good luck in the contest!
