What a cute children's poem. It carries a wonderful message about friends.
The rhyming is excellent. The love the ending "not everyone gets a
zebra-the end.

    Thank you for reading.

Fun to write and she. I am not sure my granddaughter loved to much. However, the adults had fun.

She cried boo hoo, as she told the Zebra to the zoo. (I think instead of told, you mean either took or sent)

Zoe decided to make things
right. (I'm not sure why you made this two lines)

I love the last line! A most fun children's poem, my friend~Debbie

    Thanks for reading.
You are right about the sent. I think I made that line to for the appearance of the poem.

Goes to show sometimes a person doesn't know who their real friends are until someone else makes them see the truth, in this case that's all the zebra wanted to be; Zoe's friend. All's well that ends well. Cool story in a poem.

Thank you for reading. I like it, when people see one layer deeper into something I write. Or maybe there is a zebra following Zoe:::who knows?

What a wonderful life lesson this can be! We sometimes need to embrace rather than reject the unexpected things that show up in life. It's a way of enriching ourselves and those around us as well. Thank you for sharing!

Thank you for reading. I like to tell a kids story w a lesson underneath. Or maybe there is a Zebra following Zoe around- sort of like a guardian angel.

    Thank you for reading.
You hit it on the nose. The one part for fun and play. The deeper truth of acceptance. It helps to grow as people and reconsider living lives with open hands.

Thank you for reading. I like words and was thinking of Z words - and thus Zoe and The Zebra came to mind. It actually took looker than I expected. My youngest granddaughter is Zara. I think her mom wants me to write one about her and her binky. Got a better idea. Lol

What a very nice whimsical, childlike story you have expressed. The symbolism reflects the true nature of how we see gifts, or not see gifts in our lives. Sometimes it takes others as it did in this poem for the individual to understand the rare gift she was given.

Thank you for reading. The story is two layers. Just a fun story, but underneath a cautionary note. Some of the most unexpected things in life, not talking about good or bad are the most rare gifts of all.

Shame on that Zebra who wanted to play. Kidding! Very funny story in a poem. Excellent work! No grammatical errors. Good luck in the contest! Nice poem.

Thank you for reading- it was as lovely as my 6 year old granddaughter prancing through the room. Who is to say whether there was a zebra or not. There are so many things we can not see as adults.

I do not get to see my granddaughter that much so this is my way of expressing that joy. Fun to write something lighthearted and think like my granddaughter.

What a fun story poem! ;) I do hope that you had some really cool illustrations...perhaps for her to color...? :) :) Great offering - thank you so much for sharing your Zoe and Zebra with us and good luck!! ;)
Be sure to pop back in there and remove the gnome graffiti from your author notes. ;) :)

    Already done.
A fun little right. I usually write a lot of prose. So fun to rhyme. Had some help from the peanut gallery.
