Hello Melissa, this is a lovely nonet, written in perfect form with good enjambment throughout. Your picture is very tasteful and suits your words perfectly - the frail skeletal form. Good work. Warm regards Dorothy x

The final phase of a leaf's life is pictured here where all that is left are the veins that once carried its chlorophyl. Finally these too will crumble and we will be left with nothing.
A most interesting nonet.

Thank you very much Jim... I really appreciate your comments and insight into this Nonet. I am glad it resonated with you!! I wrote it while remembering being by the bedside of my Mom as she passed last year. This verse applies to all things that are waning to death.

Been there done that watching and waiting by their Bessie to take their last dying breath. It doesn't get any easier when it is the love of your life for 53 years..

What a beautiful picture. I don't think I've ever seen anything quite like it before. Your poem is very well-written, descriptive. Although I believe you were referring to a plant, a reader could very well picture this being the bittersweet end of human life. Very nicely done.

Hello Melissa!
Your nonet is glorious.
Whether it be about a human approaching her final journey or a gorgeous annual plant knowing that winter is imminent, the visual and emotive imagery your set forth is keen.
A moving rendering.
Thank you for sharing!
Best Wishes!

Albeit sad, this nonet is very well written and chilling, but also has a sense of relief as death is welcome when fatigue sets in. This is one of the best nonets I have read Melissa and for that reason, you earned a six, love Dolly x

This is a very well written poem which meets the criteria of the Nonet contest. The words flow nicely and the phrases are not artificially structured to fit the form.

Hi SUGARRAY,
This is a moving poem of impending death that Is welcome as life ebbs away. Some of us are lucky enough to reach the age where we are ready to meet our maker.
So cleverly written and could easily apply to anything come to the end of its live. Very clever.

The is a powerful poem about the final moments in the process of dying. It confroms to the rules of the nonent. I thought your pairing with image was was appropriate -- it complements, but does not compete or distract. My one suggestion for improvement would be to consider finding another word choice for dealt -- I found it a bit jarring and a bit out of places with your other word choices.
