It's not yet today for me, but I like the idea Sally, I'm still trying to peek above the hole I fell into. It's not the writing that is difficult - it truly is holding focus to read for so long. But this one caught my eye. It deserves my six as you always do!

I?ve been praying for you, dear Fonda. I wrote this in the aftermath of Dean?s death just after my tribute to him. I hope you can read that one too. It helps me to focus to the things that are good and right in my life when things are at a low point or I am hit with great losses or many things n a row. My blindness diagnosis was followed by the loss of my first granddaughter. I was at my lowest point ever. I know what it?s like to be at zero, I really do. I find that God pits this little reminders all around to say, ?I am here and life will be good again.? It?s teue and it has become what I had hoped for. I practice lookimg at the good side of everything daily.
Sending you my best today with condolences in your great loss, really our loss of Dean.
Sally XOXO

Well, diddy or not, this is such a fun and oh-so-wise offering for the day, ma'am!! Just remember to take this one to heart after the rains... looks for the smile in even the mess... they'll be there (along with all of our prayers out here for you guys!). Thanx so much for the 'diddy smile'! ;) :) Yvette

I very much like this uplifting poem, Sally. So much of life is what we make it... and that comes from our own point of view. Great job on putting a happy face on a sad outlook. Good job.

Sally I'm glad you said goodbye to despair, not only do you get ulcers you also lose your hair. If the Hurricane is at your door, lock it and go next state. Or come on down to Texas where it is hot but safe, from that big bad wolf. The only thing we have to worry about is what sunscreen to use. Take care of yourself and your loved ones.

Will do, dear poet. We are hunkered down and alert. The rain bands have moved in and Dorian has slowed just a bit. We should really feel it by tomorrow. Thanks so much for the kind review and encouragement.
Sending you my best today as well,

Your poem is very optimistic, but for some it is not so easy to pull themselves up by their own bootstraps, as it were. Depression often takes a strong grip. The speaker in this poem is one of the lucky ones.

Is a blind writer someone who does not enter into the FS contests? I know some don't do contests....
-
When I said I am am blind writer I meant without eyesight. A blind entry when the writer?s name is withheld in a contest submission. :+)
-
Sally, what can I say, your very special. Your writing is wonderful. God Bless you.

Thank you so much, Rosemary. XO

These are exactly the type things we have to do to pull ourselves up. I find myself doing it quite a bit. Life is far too short to be miserable for any great length of time and you did an excellent job of conveying that with this fantastic little bit! Love it.

Sally, what a wonderful way to rise above depression and despair. When I lost my first son ( we lost two) another bereaved mother told me to give myself something to look forward to every day, even if it was just a cup of herbal tea. It helped and still does. So sad about your granddaughter. I hope things are looking up for you and your family.

Sometimes, we look around us seeing life has a different effect on others different from what we feel. Without thinking, we adjust. Yes, keep your head up and keep it moving.

I think many of us do this. Not wanting to spoil someone else's pleasure we fake a happy mood. And by 'faking' it, we can often raise our own spirits.

I've always believed happiness is a decision. That might be simplifying it a bit as such a decision is not always easy. But often times there is a choice. Have a lovely day.
