Sounds like an exciting story in total. I like that you've woven dialog in with action - and put them in a natural setting. Having dogs in the story (they tell me) is always a good touch. Good job.

Barbara, your dialogue is always so right on. I was amused because my son-in-law used to play for the Cubs. I think it was a field team, but he does have a baseball card. Mac is showing us that she really isn't that tough. Good read.

You did good. No spags and still an engrossing read. You have us all still wanting more. I know it is still a while till the romance but it will be nice when it happens. Drama angle interesting as usual.

This really is a mystery, Barbara, I'm wondering if someone is trying to put her off finding Logan's sister's murderer? I can see that all this is not really helping Mac concentrate on it. Thankfully, she has Logan who is not only sympathetic, but I think there might be a romantic buzz in the air. Well done, my friend. :) Sandra xx

Barbara, that rock thrown at Mac's door is rather frightening, somewhat saying "I'm watching you, be warned!" Whoever it is, also knows that Logan is around protecting her. Another great chapter.
Have a nice day

I'm new to the story, Barbara, but I still get a good sense of the characters. You give enough detail for the reader to feel inside the story rather than just reading it.
The last scene is effective, that she is strong enough to try to hold it together but smart enough to let herself be comforted. It leaves the reader with a tender feeling towards both of your characters.

Why would someone risk coming to the house to throw a rock and perhaps be seen? I suspect whoever's out to get Mac is not too bright. Maybe it's Logan's sister's killer trying to stop the investigation. I've always thought murderers are not good at thinking about consequences of their actions. They tend to be rash and acting on impulse and emotion. Throwing a rock would be the kind of thing such a person would do, I think.

Thank you for the kind review. Many neighbors, especially in the large cities believe mind your own business is the most important survival tactic, especially in St. Louis. Nobody would be watching. Thank you for the kind review.

Barbara:
Here I am again, jumping into one of your stories in the midst
of things. I will make every effort to go back and read what I've
missed, to this point. The profiles you provide do give one a
guide, however.
I've only been back 3 days after almost a year away. Looking for
my muse. If you see her, would you send her my way?
Good to be reading you again.
