Mac is a little hard on Logan. He was sincerely trying to help, and as he claims he did knock and she didn't hear. She has good reason to feel she's in danger, after being drugged and being sent a dead rat, but she insists she has to be in control. She gives Logan an earful about having the security detail, and she'll probably have words for her friend Bill as well. She is protesting too much. She probably does feel threatened and is frustrated because she hasn't figured out who's been after her. Great story. judi

I thought the dialogue was very good and looked for some answers about the threats or dangers McKenzie faces. One of the things that helps me keep up with continuing chapters is a short synopsis with each post. Your "background" section helps.

I quite understand what Mac is saying, she is a very determined and capable woman and suddenly there is Logan and Bill, worried about her, and those awful things that happened. She is a private detective and doesn't like this sudden change in roles. But she is in danger and she'll have to accept help. If he happens to be a good looking into the bargain, so be it! I wouldn't turn him down! lol. Well done, Barbara, this story is really taking on a tense and scary feel. There is someone out there after Mac, and she doesn't know why.
