Patience, prayer and thought certainly help to get those wheels turning in the right direction. They are actions which unfortunately cut across the grain of modern living where everything must be instant and self is the centre of the universe.

Hi! Thank you :)

I would so give this 6 stars if I had them! The mind will think. The heart will pray. They really are two different things, aren't they! I love that you used a pic of the Hagia Sophia. Great symbolism!

Welcome back to poetry posting. I admired your spiritual, free verse and matching artwork. Your abundant use of alliteration and focus on "patience" were very effective. Best wishes in the contest- Joan

This is a stunning image to accompany your well written free-style poem, Alicia. Despite the fact that everyone's truth may be different, we can all love each other and get along, I think. It depends on how open we are to accepting each other. Yes, there are multiple paths and I believe they all lead to the same place where faith is concerned. Good luck in the contest. Hugs, Marilyn

Holding Faith is a lovely poem about philosophy. There are many paths through which one may experience life. Your words remind us that the trajectory of our life will be greatly influenced by the elements we employ to frame our plan of action.

You may have the shortest faith poem for the contest, but I bet that it is the most profound. I have read it several times, and each time it speaks to me differently. To me, you are addressing the various religions of the world. What the world needs is patience and answers will be revealed. There are multiple paths to this truth, but all mankind is searching for the same truth.
I don't know. I'm taking that away from your poem, and I like those thoughts. If I read it again, I might write a different review. Under any interpretation, this is a good entry. Good luck in the contest.

Hi Debbie! Art is subjective. I wrote for readers to easily think of their own experiences. Thank you :)

That's hard to do.

I liked it. Very beautiful and so true. Thanks for sharing. And inspiring.
The road may have
many paths to go
the heart may rush
the mind may slow
time will show you
which way to go

A very thought-provoking one, Alicia! I like how you start us of with "wheels set in motion" and take us into wheels of thhe mind and the prayer wheels of the heart. All of which starts with faith. And sometimes faith takes patience in time and we will get the "truth" of God's answers. Best wishes in the contest.
