Mate if this doesn't win the love poem contest then the place is more rigged than I first thought and here's me thinking you were just a gun on satirical comments on the forum but you are a wonderful rhyming poet as well.
Well done from the man down under and to the rfight a touch for those Americans who like Australia might not have any idea where nu Ziland is!! lol
PS So terribly sorry to hear about your tragic Christchurch atrocity and it was a white Caucasian bloody Australian responsible... now that has broken me.
Remnants of Port Arthur sadly,
Good luck in the contest

Thanks, Dip, both for the optimistic review and the condolences. It has certainly shaken our little country up a bit - we're used to being immune to this sort of stuff. Jacinda has moved quickly. Military style automatic weapons are banned from today as well as the big magazines that you could use to upgrade... Now there will be an amnesty and buy-back just like you guys did after Port Arthur.

Thanks, Sasha. I never have any trouble with rhyme and meter. Here, I've tried hard to find new images to express love - it's difficult to be original on this topic!

I enjoyed reading your love poem contest entry. Usually the poems are very similar in words but this poem is very creative and describes the love in such beautiful descriptions. Good luck.

Delightful verse to accompany an artwork of delight. Oh, so many sunflowers. Angels winking at us to make the day bright. A beautiful love poem and I wish you luck in the contest.

Thanks, Sherry. We grew sunflowers this year for the first time. In fact, I've just been toppling their towers this week now that the blooms have finished.

There are some very lovely images here and it has resulted in a sound contender for a love poem entry. I can't think of anything that would improve it. Good luck.

Thanks, Judy. Pleased that you liked the images - I was trying hard to come up with some original ones.

Man, you got it bad!
Excellent work, Steve. Really special turns of phrase 'a thousand flowers long'
'wistful as a selkie's song' and several others. I believe you really worked this one.
Every word contributes. You're some poet!
Best of luck.
Peace, Lee

Thanks, Lee. Another of my last-minute jobs, but yes, my aim was to be as original as possible once the idea for the poem was in place. A bit schmaltzy perhaps, but I actually had fun dreaming up images that were a bit different.
Appreciate the Six.

Hi Kiwi,
Awww - This is such a sweet love poem and a great contest entry which should be a strong contender. Nothing for me to suggest you consider improving upon. Thanks for a delightful read. Jan

This is suitably schmaltzy so it should do well!
I like how you have brought in all sorts of living things as analogies to love - flowers, seals, butterflies, angels, babies and mothers... did you leave anything out?
And it covers the boundless depths to the starry sky. You must love this chick very much... seems it is reciprocated. Lucky couple. Nice.

Yep, I can schmaltz with the best of them. Me and that chick have been married for 45 years and together for a bit longer than that...
Thanks for the lovely review.
