It was so cold during the polar vortex when I wrote this that I swear I could see the bird's breath. I also appreciate your vote and your kind praise. Rod

Good evening, Mystery poet.
These short 3-5-3 type poems are often more difficult to write than lengthier ones. You have to make an immediate impact, and you have done that well.
I see the chirp leaving the Cardinal as a noisy vapor as the little puff of warm air from his throat hits the cold atmosphere.
Very nice indeed.

These short 3-5-3 type poems are often more difficult to write than lengthier ones. You have to make an immediate impact, and you have done that well.
I see the chirp leaving the Cardinal as a noisy vapor as the little puff of warm air from his throat hits the cold atmosphere.
Very nice indeed.

This was a good read, unknown poet. My mother would love this one. Cardinals are her favorite bird. This was a great snapshot of cold weather. Nice job and good luck in the contest.
