Good job! You can still read all of Mikey's work on his page here. He bought an eternal flame to keep it on FS after he was gone. Just one more way he thought of others. :)

Some kind thoughts here. well done contributing them to this book of remembrance. I think you two would have got on great together. This is excellent writing in iambic tetrameter.

Helen,
I had the distinct luck to talk with him quite a bit. Not only in reviews but in an off-site project where we all talked personally, kinda by phone, I guess, and I was so surprised by personality.
Hey, wait. You know, I've been trying to find a way to put my thoughts in - but poetry but perhaps I need to tell it in prose form! Hmmmm... thank you for helping me think this through a bit more. Don't know what I'll do, but this is a different direction to consider.
I enjoyed!

Thank you, Christine. I think I've learned more about him from all the tributes than in the two years I've been here.
Appreciate you and hope you have full strength now and up to all your regular activities. Hugs!

Aww, yes, I wish I'd known him better. I did know him but not as well as others. You capture him beautifully, though. And yes, we should all 'be like Mike'. That would be a fine legacy.

I like your reference to that old "be like Mike" cheer - I guess it was for Michael Jordan. Brought a smile! Thank you for the thoughtful review! Blessings!

A lovely poem expressing your feelings for the sadly departed Michael Cahill. I always had time for his work, I found so original and entertaining. Thank you for sharing your poem with us. ~Mel~

I think your poem is really kind,
a legacy Mike left behind
as evidenced by what you say -
'Be like our friend; make someone's day.'
Nicely done, Helen. Good on ya!

Helen, I am so sad to hear of this news on Michael Cahill. I have been off site for too long it seems. I have, in the past, had conversations and reviews with Mikey so my heart goes out to him in heaven. I don't even know when or how he left us. He will be a missing FS family member but remembered by many. Thank you for writing such a tender and thoughtful poem for Mikey. ~DDxx

Thank you so much for reading and reviewing, DD! I had hoped to learn about writing free verse from him. It takes very little time away for things to change here. Thanks for stopping by! Hugs!!
Comment from Gloria ....
Such a lovely tribute to Michael, Helen. He certainly was a big help and a wonderful community builder too. His compassion and gentle soul will be sorely missed by many.
Lovely tribute to a fine FanStorian.

Excellent rhyme and impeccable meter, Helen. More importantly, it's a lovely, and most appropriate, contribution to the book in his honour. All that you say is true, from what I knew of him, so well done :)
Cheers,
Craig
