This is a lovely and simple verse and in times of loss simple cane be far more comforting that complicated prose's. Michael was a friend to all. That was one of his gifts and perhaps his life's purpose.

This is an absolutely breathtaking tribute poem to Michael Cahill granting him, "sacred sleep". I found his obituary online today. There is no mention of a service, so I'm not sure what that means. I think he would like the thought of a restful sleep and being among the stars. He is a star in our hearts.

This could well be inscribed as an epitaph upon a tombstone. Thank you for joining with the other contributors to this book of remembrance for Michael. The idea of the the departed taking their place in the heavens among the stars is not new, but this guy was definitely a star in his own right.

I'm sure others have envisioned loved ones looking down at them from the Heavens. But of course, we know that the light from stars is actually very old by the time it reaches us... I do agree, Michael was a star in his own right. Wish I'd met him - he lived not terribly far from me but we never did meet.

The definition between life here, living in this shell, and "death" has been described as merely a translation between one continuum and another, our very souls are eternal, one way or another. I can't justify that in scrpture, mind you there is a separation in goals. Beautfully written sentiment and backed by your incomparable abilities Carol. Well dine, blessings, Roy

I know for a fact that Mike just loved the Sapphonic Triad, and this is one he would genuinely appreciate. Yes Mike and his family attended a wonderful church in their area, so yes I believe he would appreciate this a great deal. :)

Thank you, Gloria, that is good to hear. You know, he lived not terribly far from me and yet we never met...Somehow I knew a ST for him was essential. This is not my best one, but the best I could do at short notice.

I love Latin, and I'm not sure why, but sometimes these simple quotes in this language provide so much comfort :)
