Loved your poem and the presentation of the blue on yellow with patterned picture. Is a cherry-plum a hybrid or two trees grafted together? Enjoyed the busy flitting at the beginning and the gentle slow floating down of the feather at the end.

Thank you very much for your review. The tree is a plum tree but the ripened fruit is still small, like cherries. The flesh is yellowish, the skin reddens. Not such a sweet fruit for casual eating but makes superb pickles and chutneys. (Although the wood pigeons try to beat me to the fruit first. They can strip the tree of its fruit in a matter of days.)

No one loves--or writes about--birds more than I. This nonet describes them in the spring when they seem to be everywhere in newly-blossomed trees. Your use of alliteration truly enhances the mood of gaiety they bring. Rod

Hi Rod... I'd forgotten that I did review your "Al feathered friends are welcome" poem... we share a similar love of our feathered neighbours.
