I knew when I saw the can of Alpo in the picture where this was headed. Still hysterical. Truth is, how many people are actually "Steve" when it comes to how they treat their dogs - like members of the family? Mine is a spoiled rotten brat! And, who's to blame? Me. Will probably bookmark this one.

Thanks, Brett, for the shot in the arm.

Now that is sharing beyond compare. Sometimes my cat's food looks better than my own, but I stick stick with Hershey bars and graham crackers - I read about this radical concept called protein...but am pretty sure it is a hoax.

One day we'll find that chocolate fudge and bacon fat are the healthiest foods.

Oh, for the joy of that day!!
Comment from Dawn Munro
Aww, he let his little dog eat first. (YUCK! hahahahaha!) Question, protagonist: how does a dog clean itself, hmm?
All kidding aside, this is well-written, and just different enough to catch the eye of the judges, Bill. Good luck!

A meal shared with a friend here, although it sounds disgusting, dog food is probably quite edible and so wonderful that the dog would think of sharing it with his master! A rare occurrence I expect! Love Dolly x

I used a Yorky because a lab would have wolfed it all down.

I count 50 words. Share and share alike. Hilarious! I was not expecting that ending. It came as a complete surprise which is the foundation of all great comedy. Super job! Now pass the Alpo....

Thanks, WW, for this neat review.
Comment from Dean Kuch
This sort of scenario is not far fetched, as there are many despondent, destitute people who can't afford to feed both their pets and themselves. So, rather than starve they compromise.
If Chipper had been my dog, he would have been eating cheap .99 cent baloney. After all, it costs about the same as a can of Alpo these days.
Eating Alpo is probably healthier however.

Comment from Gloria ....
HA, yuck. But what the heck, I guess it's better than some meals Steve may have eaten. Waste not want not.
This is really funny and I wish you much luck with the contest committee. :)

Oh, my goodness. I would have to think of some way to avoid my dear
dog's sharing efforts--some sleight of hand. Seriously, this little story
is so cute.
