Dawn, this is a beautiful tribute to your friend. Christmas is such a mixed bag. It's a time when people become their most generous. It's also a time of putting on blinders to the suffering in the world. Fighting stops for a day. How silly when you think about it because wars pick up again on the next day.
I hope you have a peaceful Christmas season and that it lasts all year long.

This modern sonnet, Bleak Christmas, presented in iambic pentameter and ABAB quatrains, gives a sad nod to a departed friend who seems to have spent some lonely times alone without a shoulder to cry on.

In a time of the year wgphen no one should be alone, some of the elderly, not to mention those who are on the streets. Beautifully written dear Dawn, in emotive, expressive language ins beautifully rhymed in articulate expression, well done my friend, blessings, Roy
