A very meaningful and sadly true write with a wonderful presentation....I wish I could sit and argue, and I'm sure there are places that it is not true-where materialism has not won out, but I must agree with many of your lines in green....all we can do is strive to light our little part and hope it catches on!! ;) :) Thanx for the write, ma'am! :) Yvette

Thanks for your complimentary review. The more I see technology changing the world, the more I feel the urgent need for more connection with our kids. Now, commerce is replacing interpersonal communication skills, as we all become zyborgs.

What I see happening in the world is sad. In Western culture, the true reason for the holiday is being diminished. Worship has shifted to. $ and our kids are not getting the personal connection they deserve because toys which replace parental time. Many people also are depressed because of other problems. Thank you for reviewing.

I totally embrace the sentiments that you express in your well-crafted free verse poem. I so want to embrace all of the good that comes packaged in Christmas, but I look around me, and there is so much strident madness! So...I make Christmas in my heart - and try to live what I believe all year long.
I love that you wrote your words in the shape of a Christmas tree...not certain if that is aok with free verse, but it is with me!
