the feeling from giving is its own reward.
If more is sought, 'tis not a true gift.
However, if appreciation for a gift is expressed to the giver, that is a good feeling, also-- a win-win.
good poem.

Another great poem from you, as always, your content is always enjoyable. And a very modest poem you have indeed, it is always better to give just to give, not to get.

I have found this to be true throughout my life. If you give expecting nothing in return you are always satisfied with what you have done and never disappointed the favor was not returned. Also I think that's what makes them favors.

This poem is about giving more than one received and not expecting anything in return. An age-old idea that has survived for thousands of years in our self-centered world.

There is real wisdom in your ultra-concise poem. Giving anything to
anyone based solely on the expectation of gratitude often leads to
hurt feelings!

This is so very true. I agree that if we all just had open hearts and shared what we have with those that dont we would be a much happier country and our numbers of homeless and hungry people would be greatly lowered. Thanks for sharing.

I agree - give and then give more - freely with no strings attached the left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing. I believe this is the way that God gives - so freely - to us.
Good poem.

I like the overall effect of this, from the photo to your words. You convey what the prophets would say, so interjected is your religious angle, but in all reality, if we just did what your first 3 lines say, life would be less stressful. I personally feel you will do well with this. It is very well done and creatively so.

Well, you taught me that 'seer' has two syllables, Al - I was scratching my head to find that 25ths syllable, not that it matters as this is about fifteen words and syllables not important! :):):)S

To give of ourselves as our Lord and Savior did for us is the way to be happy! Such profound words in your poem. Giving is love, and love always fulfills.
