Thanx for your thoughtful review, DR - it really was just a culmination of ideas in my head after reading a number of those essays for the Review contest and the three-cubed opportunity. It is so very true that when the inspiration and motivation is there then the words just come easily! :) :) :) So very glad you enjoyed it and I do appreciate your taking the time to read my work! :) :) Sending wishes for a weekend filled with cool grass under your feet and aimless stargazing! :) :)

It may be fictional, but I did find it fitting. I have been off/on FS for over 12 years. Some reviewers can be harsh. Some you know didn't even read the work, yet gave a review based on previous writes. Yes, I've had this happen. It's ok to relate to a writer. That said, this cubed poem encompasses frustrations we've all felt from time to time. We learn. We grow. We will be better for ALL the reviews and feedback, good, bad, indifferent. It's how we choose to run with it that counts. Good luck in the contest. Your chosen words, subject, presentation all work well together. The rhyme is strong and well placed. Nothing I can suggest to edit or revise. Best of luck.

Thanx for your thoughtful review, Janelle - yeah, some folks just haven't discovered what tact really is: you can critique without criticizing...I just don't think those that criticize take the time to realize what their words can do to others. :) And, the piece really was just a culmination of ideas in my head after reading a number of those essays for the Review contest and the three-cubed opportunity. I really enjoyed this spontaneous "advice" poetry. I always appreciate clarity of words and thought, and this work has this clarity. I like the way it gently instructs. It is also fun to follow the fluency of thought.

This philosophical poem, Think Before You Write, seems to lean towards the 'first do no harm' reviewing policy. Many a fledgling writer out there just ned some encouragement along with direction. Some know-it-alls are simply fault-finders and should just stick to grading papers. Others stack on praise, but with no assessment as to why or any helpful information. Somewhere in between is where we ought to aim.

Thanx for the thoughtful review, Bill -- I am in total agreement on pretty much all your points there...I actually take the time to look at profiles of authors' names I don't recognize to get more of a feeling of where they're coming from. Of course, I realize that's over the top, but after working with teenagers and such, it seems folks get their feelings hurt and get discouraged a helluvalot easier than they use to....c'est la vie, I suppose. Sigh. Enough rambling -- thanx for taking the time to read today as I really do appreciate it! :) :)
