Thank you very much for reading, William, and for the six stars as well.
Sorry for the delay in responding.
With my dad passing away recently I've fallen a bit behind.
It's not that I don't appreciate your input because I do.
It's just been a little crazy around here lately.
Thanks so much again.

I am so very sad that I do not have a 6 to give you for this most touching write, I do have tears though, that is for sure. I am so sorry for your family's loss. The whole presentation is way beyond wonderful It touches so very much...even the beating heart has to have a say. Well! I have to go and find a tissue...but I do thank you so much for the way you have honored your father and for sharing...Dinah

Yes, having a father you could look up to as a hero is beyond price. Even though his condition meant you saw this moment coming, it is not any easier. The important thing is the time you had with him -- fishing, camping, talking, and just being together -- each being clear to the other about the unconditional love between you. Now I understand why your own heart is so caring.
My own father is gone more than a quarter century now, but I still feel his loving influence on me. From your beautiful words in this magnificent tribute to your dad, I am certain you will find similar comfort in the years ahead. You do indeed have True Riches.
The Six this post deserves (which I don't have) pales in comparison to the treasure you already have. He will live on in your memory, and in the memories of all others whose lives he touched.
This is still a time of raw emotion, so please know I care. You and he (though I never met him) will be in my thoughts and prayers, my friend. -- Mike

I can't imagine a more beautiful gift to give a parent, Dean. It made me cry. It is in perfect meter and rhyme, of course, but the part I enjoyed most was seeing your true heart in every line. It is a much more attractive heart than that pulsing blue one. I loved this poem so much I read it three times. It is wonderfully tender and full of love. It didn't hurt either, that you added one of my favorite songs ever... sung by Eva Cassidy. Thanks!

A poignant tribute to a father who left a lasting impression. Mine passed in 2000 but his presense is felt in every aspect of my life till this day. How lucky we truly are.
Sorry for your loss, but he will continue to be by your side.

Dean,
I am so sorry!! I lost my dad about ten years ago (always bad at years). Know he is still with you in spirit. When Dad died, I felt someone standing behind me at the bus stop. I just knew it was him.
((( Dean )))) (those are hugs. Beautiful music.
Love,
Nome

Oh Dean, Again I'm so sorry to hear about your Dad. Wow, 13 kids, he sounds like a wonderful man who always put his family first. This is a beautiful poem you've penned in dedication to him. I love the intimate conversations in the 3rd and 4th stanza, they're real tear-jerkers. Such lovely artwork and video as well. I noticed his Birthday, December 17, 1937, so weird, my Dad was born the next day, the 18th 1937. He passed when I was young though. Take care, Dean. Love & Hugs! xo

It was my pleasure. No worries on the late response, understandable. I've been delayed on everything, lol.

Oh geez Dean. You have my condolences. It sounds, from your poem, that this man was not only your father but also a man who you loved and respected. This is the highest honor, to have a son who liked his papa as a person.

I can appreciate both ends of this thoughtful poem.
As a son, I wish I had done better.
As a father, I wish I had done better.
Thanks for stirring up feelings which should be contemplated much more often.
