Nice job on that one. Great descriptive writing, unfortunately makes one feel like they are in the scene. Not a pleasant thing unless you go to the last line, LOL Of course here in Colorado, springs can get pretty nasty herself.

Bob,
Although I like spring and fall seasons the best, your poem vividly paints winter in its finest brutal attack of a season. I can picture the ice, snow and howling wind. The storm may be the last one for this season because mother nature is close bringing with her Spring.
Really enjoyed your poem. Kathy

This is a lovely poem, Bib, full of wonderful imagery and great personification. Like this winter, it was incredibly beautiful...but incredibly too long. Mother Nature needs to be a bit more assertive. Enjoyed your poem!
Smiles,
Karyn :-)

Mastery:
I love spring, too, and Old Man Winter brought us a lot more
snow this year than usual. The artwork by Helvi you chose is
perfect for your well-written poem.

Very sweet poem, Bob. I love your personification of winter with the old man and the old woman who don't seem to be fussy where their icy fingers creep down to the level of man. Clever artwork. Blessings and have a lovely day, Giddy

I think each season has it's own special charm. Since moving to Texas, two season, hot and hotter, I miss winter a lot. My favorite season is autumn because of the gorgeous colors. Thank you for sharing.

Blast you Bob! You just managed with skilled deft use of well conceived phrasing, to make that brutal bully Old man Winter to sound almost beautiful, artistic and even something to be admired. That takes a certain amount of undeniable skill. Congratulations.

Hello Mastery, your poem is filled with vivid winter imagery. Of special note:
Old Man Winter's
often brutal, frigid conceptions
(Brutal is the word best to describe Old Man Winter, and his offspring, Snow, is the other four-letter word. I've come to hate winter. I no longer even like to look at snow from within the comforts of a warm home. When I hear the news reporter say snow, I just cringe. However, the splendor of spring makes me smile, and smile a lot.)
Lovely artwork choice. Good alliteration:
His breath whips through barren branches
Well done. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

Hi Bob. This is beautiful-- the words open up a library of imagery. So serene and beautiful, despite the words blustery and daggers. And the title bearing the word 'old'. Lol! Though you are right, as maybe most folks feel most times, winter tends to linger and drag on when everyone is sick and tired of the cold and longing desperately for spring.
Hope your favorite season is making you happy. It finally came.;))
