This is one large metaphor and creates powerful imagery. The reader will be drawn in to reflect on their journey of twists and turns and meandering through powerful lessons. We do accumulate too much dead stuff and get stuck from to time. There is always hope in this poem, eventually the stream movers on and the reader needs to remember this, we don't stay stuck forever. There is something in tomorrow. Well written.

Wow, I really like this poem and its analogies to body of waters. The extended metaphor works well to describe life's journey (its ups and downs; it ebbs and flows).

Also, the poem comes bearing a flawless meter and strong, unpredictable rhymes.

The lack of punctuation works well.

I found it really really nice, except for the odd line "the river of life coops". Is that a typo for "copes"?
You have a gift for finding a great phrase. The "dreams of old lying now in beds so cold" is truly marvelous in the context of an overall image of a river.
