What a profound, true, and thought provoking message this poem presents. You've done a superb job in conveying to the reader the inevitable passing of time and the end results. I really like and enjoyed reading this. Great job Christine and well done.

I for one am happy for your life... Profound poetry is my favorite... I'm back after a huge break from here and I'm reading a lot of sing songs perfectly plucked with our heart... You have heart.

Indeed Christine, I thought like you, in fact there is no point to life...save one. Until I had that encounter, and all of a sudden, hope beat down my door, in fact the bible agrees with you, Ecclesiastes says, "all is meaningless" I hate the ritual, the trappings of religion, but what does it gain by believing nothing...one reaps the prize of non-belief...nothing, or rather...birth, youth, age...death! Beautifully written, in 8686 quatrains, abab rhyming, well done, blessings, Roy
Nicely written Christine,
Suggestion :
If could grasp, indeed youth keep
old age would not come near

Hi Roy, Thank you and Your bible passage was interesting and I do respect peoples choices in religion and anything, but sometimes the dogma of religion is questionable. I do not have a 'faith' but am spiritual in many ways. My mum and brother have very a strong religion and we sometimes debate this without being dissrespectful. In fact my mums religion has been a great comfort to her as she had had a lot of health issues and her belief had helped her a lot. Many Cheers and lovely to have tpur review and support. Christine

The funny thing if all it was, was dogma, I couldn't do it. It's a reality beyond dreams. If one is blind, one has no idea what sight is. And deaf, no idea what hearing is.

Excellent poem! I absolutely love it. It flows freely and says everything that each one of us has wanted to ask and say at least once in our lives. Beautifully written!

This NAPOWRIMO poem, Every New Generation, seems to dismiss history as failure and today as an opportunity to begin from scratch. No need to ignore religion, it's useless to America and an excuse to murder everywhere else. Truth is unimportant and might makes right.

Hi Bill Thanks for your review and maybe this is right. There is so much discontent with everything here politics ,religion, world affairs. we don't seem to learn from our forfathers or philosophical teachings not sure what the answer is. Sometimes I just wonder why. Cheers Christine

An interesting picture choice which shows a variety of ages. I always like poems or stories that makes me think and your poem does exactly that. I like you have heard the typical answers so I have come up with my own. I get to share what I have learned both in my time and from the past. But more importantly I get to be a parent and loved and I get to be a coworker and a friend. You did a fantastic job with this poem. Thanks for sharing.

Wow! Excellent. I like the rhythm and flow of this. Also, the philosophy. While it's good to know about history, we only have now to deal with. We can learn from history, but we make our own in the end.
