I think it is a good idea to write a book about your marriage--it should be therapeutic and fascinating for others to read. Thank you for sharing your first chapter. Your "jewel" metaphor is very effective and your including Smokey's reaction adds more realism. Warm regards- Joan

First of all, I am so sorry that you lost your husband. You two were obviously very close. I won't even pretend I understand how you feel. I know I can't. I have been married to my husband for eighteen years and I dread the thought of not having him beside me.
I think your poem is lovely and I hope you continue to find some small measure of peace writing down the words that express your love and longing.
Keep writing, and know that he is safe, well and happy and looking forward to your reunion when the right time arrives. Perhaps you will be able to help others who are struggling to understand their loss with this book. I think he would be very proud of you for writing it.

Hello Ine,

This is a heartfelt love poem to your husband. I can't imagine what it would be like to lose my husband. I'm lucky to have him with me. We have had many deaths in the family recently, so I have a good idea. I think writing a book of poems about your husband is a good idea. Good for therapy.
