Oh my! I hate it that she may go to the slaughterhouse. This is very well done with rhyme and rhythm. Unique little poem. Quirky topic. I am not sure, but I may have reviewed this once. I know it caught my eye and may have caught my eye once before! I like it!

When you really think of it, we aren't very nice to our animal relations, we feed them up to kill and put on our plate. It's just as well they don't know what their future holds. In a way it's a bit like us, we might all know we're going to die, but we don't really know what happens after. We have our own ideas, though. Excellent poem, my friend. :) Sandra xx

When you really think of it, we aren't very nice to our animal relations, we feed them up to kill and put on our plate. It's just as well they don't know what their future holds. Very clever Tony, but the question is out of the question. As you know, deeper thinking is beyond the unconcerned beast's capabilities.
Nevertheless, I find the poem to be quite appealing.
(However, I emphatically decline inclusion in the cud-chewing sorority.)

To answer your final question, no, most farm animals would certainly not be happier if they had the mind-power to be aware of their likely final fate. Indeed, it's a trait I quite envy sometimes - the ability to ignore the future and the past and just be happy in the present.
Love the 'bovine essence of eternity'.

Your ruminations are deep - certainly putting thoughts into this bovine. Well, I guess these animals do not know what is happening in their future - otherwise, they'd revolt. So, her thinking is sufficient for the situation. Certainly worth thinking about - our whole earthly condition.

A very well-written free verse poem. Any animal on a farm that are fed to be slaughtered for human consumption is honored in hraven. They sacrificed their lives for the humans sake.

Thanks for your review, Nancy. Yes, I rather agree. However, this poem was intended to be more about the self-destructive nature of dwelling on the inevitable catastrophes of the future rather than on enjoying the blessings of the present. I am not entirely ashamed of being an omnivore!
