This is such a glorious poem, all by itself, but given its history and your artistry, your Dear Mom would have said it is a Dream Come True in any tense, Congratulationsl
Blessings, john

This is beautifully done. I have never had much time some of these more obscure forms but in this you have used the form to great advantage. The third set of long lines actually provide a poetic definition of what we believe suffering from Alzheimer's must be like with its occasional bursts out of the darkness into the light of memory.

you have used this form better than I think i have ever seen it used before.

    Hello!
Well, I am truly honored to receive your exceptional rating and, more importantly, your complimentary review.
I will let you in on a little secret: tetractys is my favorite poetic form in which to write. I love the challenge of telling a story in what appears to be a strict syllabic format, but the words often flow in natural speaking phrases. If I could, I would publish a book on tetractys poetry, but I fear I would be the only one to purchase it! If you have a moment, I have written many poems in this format. They are all in my portfolio. "What Price, Courage?," "Lucy Rose," and "The Nights of Castle Fair" are three of my favorites...
Again, I am honored and humbled... Thank you!

This is a beautiful, poignant tribute to your mother. I do not know if this is comforting or not, but you had a mother you love and sounds like she loved you. Many people do not have live from either parent or one or the other. Where there is love, death becomes more painful. No love, no pain. But, I would much rather had the live and the pain. So, I am happy for your good memories. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this poem

I never questioned the verb tenses as I felt the flow of words were of a timeless nature - I couldn't tell how long ago it happened. But it was beautiful. I don't know if I've ever seen marsh marigolds. Thanks for sharing such precious memory of your mom. Sorry that she has suffered so much.

Lovely poem. It not only brings to mind the coming spring but past springs. A beautiful ode to your mother. We can only hope to be remembered in such a simplistic picturesque and
Inspiring way. Enjoyed the read. Thank you for sharing.

Ms KT,

What an honor it is to be able to read your work. The imagery is ethereal and the sentiment evokes the readers senses as if she was right there with you in the wonderment of memories.

Beautiful

    Hello Jlsavell,
What a gracious compliment! Thank you ever so much. I so enjoy writing tetractys poetry. Someday, I would love to publish a book of poems written in this format, but I would probably be the only one to purchase it! :)

    Thank you again!

Beautiful tribute. I love it. You remember beauty with beauty and creative and beautiful words. I liked the formatting, the pic, the poem itself. Great job with this. It should be framed and hanging in your living room. Really.

    Hello Wendy,
My daughter just phoned and ask what we would be doing if "Grandma" was still with us today. I told her that I had written "Grandma" a poem; she loved the thought of that.
Thank you ever so much for your thoughtful and positive review!

Sorry for your loss. This poem lets us know that she was an active person until all her ailments hit. Too bad she couldn't remember the stream and the flowers. Your lucky to have such pretty places in which to remember your mother. My mom died of cancer in November of 2006.

Keep writing

Joan

A very well-written story poem written in multiple Tetractys poems. The message us clear and the memories are always pleasant and makes us feel happy to have been part of their lives before they are gone.

    Woah!
Thank you ever so much, Friend, for your outstanding rating and exceptional review. I only know how to write from my heart...except for that Arsenic and Unhinged Grace piece...Not certain where that originated...:)
I love to write tetractys poems. There is something about writing a story in a fixed syllabic format that is so challenging and gratifying when it works. Not everyone's "cup of tea," but I love it. There are many in my portfolio. "Lucy Rose" and "What Price Courage?" are two of my favorites...

    Smiles all around...Very honored...
