I didn't get the homage on my first read through. Thought it was just a new take on microbiology. Kind of a no duh moment when I read again. Very clever and quite enjoyable. I think you ought to go with bacterial qualities.

I really enjoyed your amoeba story! It brought back so many memories of Science classes when I was a student, especially with words like "paramecium", "cilium", and "Protozoa". This piece is very clever and creative! I loved the idea of the amoeba just wandering around the Petri dish. Such a fun read! Thanks for sharing. :)

Haaaaaa, another fantastic amoeba story, Bill. I laughed out loud at the first line visiting the science lab with the rest of her biology experiment. It sounds so normal, but it really isn't.

This is a brilliant idea and it's possible I may have taken more of an interest in biology had this been part of the curriculum.

Now that it's in the toilet where is it going?! Eeep.

Love this little adventure. Only problem I had is " the back corner of a Petri dish." Are not Petri dishes round? I enjoy this work and hopefully the masquerading germ will as your story will find his just fate.
