Your use of disjointed Walrus-speak is perfect for this little story. It brought Wally to life and made him instantly lovable. I'd like to have seen something more meaningful elevate the ending above simply a zany incident perhaps by enlarging or adding detail to the last scene.

Part of it is because it is so danged cute, I just don't want to leave Wally just yet.

Thank you, Jay, for the meaningful critique here. I added a 'Later that week...' to extend Wally's story and expand on the character in another posting.
