Hi Sankey, oh families can be tricky, and there can be so much intrigue going on, which is quite unbelievable and also very sad. It's so not necessary. At least you always know who your friends are. I enjoyed the read. All the best. Ulla:))

Another interesting chapter in your story.
Sometimes dealing with family, especially inlaws, can be the deal breaker in a relationship.
I'm glad that you are hanging in there.

You have an interesting family, but it sounds normal. As far as "Nin's" age is concerned, never ask a lady her age. Sometimes it's better to have secrets. Since you quote Bible verses, here's another one. Even a fool can be taken for a wise man if he keeps his peace.

Good one mate. Sorry I have not been around your stuff in a while. I had this waiting around for so long but the Niece's recent passing sort of stuck the pin in my butt.

Hello Sankey,
This was a relatable post but nonetheless saddening. Some families can't stand the sight of each other, but yours sort of got together to act as either storm troopers or the citizen patrol! But thank your strong faith you did manage to sail through the dire straits!
And poor Grandma "Nin" - well, they say the ladies have a thing about their true age so she may be forgiven if she had not taken that to extremes.
Merry Christmas to you and Louise,
Akinyi Prinzessin von K'Orinda-Yimbo

Thanks mate for the great review. I hung onto this for a while but when the Neice died I felt like it was time to get it up.

A very well-written story about the family and sometimes actions of secrecy. I experience the same kind of thing with my own family. I know they often try to hide something from me that I am not supposed to know. But I always hear the truth in one way or another.

Praise the Lord for truth, Sis. God will prevail. Thanks for the great review. Pray that somehow God will be glorified out of all the proceedings.

This is a very interesting post you have penned about your wife's side of the family and how they treat you two. Some families are that way. You used very good descriptive wording and great imagery with your words. I hope you two have a very happy and blessed Christmas! Teri

Thanks Sis we are doing it alone this year. Louise's best friend (our bridesmaid for our wedding 30 years ago) and her husband are coming for Dec 26th we call it Boxing Day, here a connection with British origins.

Boy, your in-laws sound a lot like my in-laws. Playing favorites and budding in and trying to control wherever they can. Since they walked away, I can't say I miss them one bit.

Right, Sis I did feel we had that in common as well. Thanks for the great review. I have more to tell you about recent happenings with the family as well.

You're welcome.

Unfortunately, it seems many families are just as you describe yours. I guess, there is an advantage to living so far away and being on my family's no-contact list... I think, in the end, I am the lucky one. I don't have to put up with all the malarkey they dish out.

Thanks mate. Appreciate you being first cab off the rank. We were never allowed to get close to the nephews and Nieces on Louise's side and I have to say I am getting the same these days with Great nephews and Nieces from my side. Cheers.
