I think you did a good job telling the story in fifty words. It's a real "Believe it, or Not" story. Thing is, can you enter non-fiction in a flash fiction contest?

This was a lovely story. I can understand having a dog for companionship. It is strange that both the dog on husband departed together.
Well written in such a short format

This is quite the story. I had a dog named Willy and a cat named Willy. It seems that the Willy here did his duty and left. Excellent flash fiction that tells a tale of a tail and a husband.

Yes, strange as it may seem I've seen many partners come home to die. The dog and his fate is peculiar to say the least. The poem is succinct as demanded, yet tells the story precisely. (Would it be too crass to ask which one you miss most?)
Warmly,
Juliette

This is a spooky story and would be a great story for the halloween poem contest or story. I love the picture as well. Great doggy spooky story. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Wow, this really is spooky. It's almost as if your husband's spirit was in the dog. That wOuld explain why he didn't like you or those around you, but he DID seem to like your husband. Strange story. :)

Hi there,
Now that is a strange and startling tale. Dogs are mysterious creatures indeed and have some in-built peculiarities.
A weird piece for the comp.

I enjoyed this quite a lot because my own personal back story today was reading
a ghost story about a castle haunted by dogs in ancient times. By Edith Wharton, who wrote great ghost stories.

There's a message somewhere in here. Nothing is coincidental. Willy hated everyone, yet stayed with Mike while died and then disappeared from your life same as Mike. Strange.
