Comment from Gloria ....
There you go getting all metaphysical on us. But now that you've brought the thought of snow into my forebrain my first thought was, "Man, those snowflakes are really getting up in years--my land."
I have a posteriori knowledge of snow gained from years of getting stuck in it, shoveling boat loads of it, skiing and snowshoeing in it, snowball fights, winning all the neighbourhood kids' marbles (that was fun) and you know the routine. Ahem ... back to my debate point.
Using the theory of falsifiability it is quite simple to prove that God did NOT create snow and by definition did not create snowflakes either. Please correct me if I am wrong on my first assumption, (I've been confused by many conflicting reports), but for the sake of my argument, I'll work from the supposition God is a hundred thousand years old.
Ice core samples drilled from the Arctic Circle contain ice up to 800,000 years old. We who evolved have yet to refine augers and drills to dig deeper, but one thing we know for certain is scientists didn't reach the soil under the ice. Since the ice forms from the incremental buildup of annual layers of snow, lower layers are older than upper, and an ice core contains ice formed over a range of years.
Therefore snow is at least 700,000 years older than God, so clearly God did not make them, ergo snowflakes are just snowflakes.
Even though I think for the intellectual integrity of the haiku form, a snowflake is a snowflake is a snowflake has tautological overtones and perhaps you might consider writing snowflakes are frozen water and a bunch of unknown stuff. Aha! Don't change a thing. Too many syllables anyway.
Lots of fun, Craig.

Haha - is God really that old? He doesn't look a day over 70,000! Must be all that clean living.
I was hoping if I wrote a tautology then the true believers would be able to appreciate it too.
Thanks for the fun review, Gloria, and for the lovely shiny stars :)

A very well-written haiku. God created everything on earth in the heavens and the oceans even each tiny snowflake is created by Him. His hand is in everything.

Hey Alf, good to hear from you! I know how it is - I'm not able to put in as much time here at the moment, either. Thanks for the fantastic review, and the lovely shiny stars :) Craig

Ahh, could it be just a snowflake:) Nicely done! I love the picture, so pretty. Snowflakes are beautiful. I love the way you reversed the form from the usual.
Great job! ~Kerry

Your very welcome.
Comment from Barb Hensongispsaca
this is an excellently done haiku with the seasonal reference and very clever to put the satori line first. since all snowflakes are different it leave a definite question
