Arthur Itis! The uninvited guest who scotches all our plans for a playful retirement! This should amuse a few old farts who have difficulty in climbing down off their bar stools to take a turn around the dance floor!

well, if they climb down and head for the dance floor, I'll take a turn with 'em.

Great lyrics. I am an old fart so I can definately relate to them.
I was literally line dancing in my chair as I read them. Great country and Western song.
I'm sure you'll do well in the contest.

thank you so much. Line dancing in your chair! That is too cute and what an accolade! Much appreciated.

lol. thank you for sharing your entry in the Lyrics Make the Song contest. Your little ditty flows well, and though I didn't have a true tune running through my head as I read, I truly enjoyed the song. Good luck in the contest,

thank you! Wish I had a tune going through my head - it would help. Glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for entering my Lyrics Make The Song Contest.
The joys of getting old, i.e., "Arthur Itis" well depicted in these lyrics that ring with a Country flair.
Should make an interesting entry into this contest.

it was fun!
maybe a more appropriate quote for getting old:
Old Age Sux :)

Really enjoyed your poem very cleverly written.
Can sort of identify with some of it too.
Great piece of writing, well done.

Clever and singable. Nice job and adequately funny and truthful at the same time. You chose the portrait of one of my favorite actors. I could almost hear him saying you lyrics. I don't know that I've ever heard him sing. I think his style would be to speak in rhythm with the guitars and drums. I don't know if singable is a word, but it should be.

thanks so much. don't know if Sam can sing or not either - he does have a great speaking voice - (or if he has a wife!) but he's an old cutie. Singable sounds like a good word to me.
thanks again.
