thank you for sharing your entry in the Love Hurts writing contest. It is often hard to go through a divorce when there is little rhyme or reason as to what happened. Sometimes, people forget to tend to the love, and sometimes people are just careless.

I particularly liked your opening lines. Very moving. I've been through a divorce a long time ago. Happily remarried these past eighteen years, I try to never forget it takes work and a lot of love to keep that "we" together.

It happens to the best of us sometimes...the Big "D", I mean.
It's happened to me twice; once after eight years of wedded bliss.
My second marriage lasted 22 years.
I can't say the eight year marriage hurt any less than the 22 year one.
Well, I could say that but it would be a lie.
I feel for your son.

I think it's hard enough when we go through this, but when our children do....oh, the pain we feel for them. My son is getting married the 23rd, I pray he never has to live this. A wonderful entry, blessings....
