A beautifully composed and projected work, and as an entry in this nove otto contest, a superb one my friend. Yes, the affairs of achieving what is already written in heaven concerning our lives, is a a cause for thought, but it's the heart that counts, not the concern...that is taken care of. So just rest dear Carolyn, it's as natural as rising from bed each morning. "A good tree..." Matthew 7:18, Luke 6:43. Well done, good luck, blessings, Roy

This speaks the mind that moves aimlessly and idly without fixed direction in the early morning and that thinks about something beyond this world and beyond life; I liked.

I admire your use of rhyming words that adds a smooth flow to your poem. Your vivid use of words captures the feeling of waking up in the morning and facing the day.

Good poem for the contest. You may want to check line 4 and make it to instead of tp.
Blessings for a wonderful day and have peace and joy. Patricia

Deep thoughts of life rush through my head
Still works of value I must do
Before my time on Earth is through
When this frail mortal shell is shed
***
The above lines pretty much defines the way of life for most people.

Hi, Charlie and thank you for the affirmation..
Yes, when all is said and done, most folks want to
do what is right, while they can...

Very nice work, although I won't wish you luck in the contest because I have a poem entered into it. Lol. Yours is a descriptive work about simple life and I found the lines, "Still works of value I must do - Before my time on Earth is through" reminiscent of Frost. (And I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.)

You're welcome. That is perhaps the one really good thing about the site sponsored contests. We can ask someone to read our entry. We can't do that for a work in the voting booth.
