Excellent antonym and description of the process of a grain of sand in a clam or an oyster becoming a pearl. As always with these poems, the definitions in the center binds the opposite words together with contrasts:
Sin or transgression can cause much pain and irritation
Covering it with love produces ultimate grace and beauty
You go further to talk about sin and the redemptive power of love.
