Well, at least Joe's buddy--what's iz name--got to hear Daniel Belsford Whitten, Junior do his burping spiel. That shoulda been good for a laugh or two, right, Katharine? Hey, they say there's a silver lining behind every black cloud. It's just that sometimes you gotta look really hard to see it.
This was very funny--the dialogue well done and believable. I can tell you've been around a lotta precocious kids in your day, heh-heh.

aha! the heh-heh! was that your poem about Paris and the pix with the Eiffel Tower????
Yep, my daughter was a precocious kid. She is now a grown woman and can actually still burp a whole sentence, much to my chagrin. She still thinks it's hilarious. (It IS pretty funny)
thanks for the best wishes! PL

I must plead the fifth as to whether or not that was my poem about Paris, Katharine. At the risk of being disqualified of course, LOL.
Regardless of that, you're more than welcome.
~Dean ;)
-
Dean, they put my name on my contest entry on FS front page, so...surely you won't be disqualified.
but thanks for taking the risk! :)
-
Well, some contests are "blind", supposedly, while some are not. Of you're caught using your signature and they catch you, you're out! :(
-
oh, dear. Hope I didn't ruin it for you!
-
Oh no, no, Katharine. Not at all.
If someone figures out my identity by, let's say...going to my profile and discovering I'm in a blind contest...and I have nothing to do with it; (i.e., asking them to read a blind post or directing them there), I don't think the Committee says too much about that. In fact, I have some members who visit my profile frequently to see if I've been up to anything new, without me having to ask. Others will suspect I wrote a blind entry, go to my profile and look to see if they're right, and then use my name in their response. Not much I can do about that either.
No, the only time you get in hot water with the CEC is if you ask a friend to vote for you. Even asking a reader to vote at all can get you in trouble.
So, don't worry about our exchange at all. it was fine. :)

thanks, Dean, for the info. Makes me feel better.

I like your story. That is one smart little boy. He knows who should be talking to his mom and he is her guardian. There is no way Mr. Suave can get past him try as he might. Well done. Love the picture. Nancy

This story was absolutely cute. You could hear little Danny engaging in the back and forth conversation over the phone. The story was written in such a way that you could see the facial expressions as the conversation continued, even though you weren't actually there.

thank you, Steph! That's the kind of review that means a lot - if it seems real. I wish I had a reviewer rec to give you, but I'm out.
Phooey! thanks again!
