You're not only back, Luna. You're back with a vengeance, like a woman on a mission.
Either you've been writing a LOT while you were away and have lot's of poems already written, just waiting to be released, or...
Writing poetry simply comes very easily to you; almost like second nature.

Like another fellow poet here named danpald, I've noticed fluttering faeries are often mentioned in the context.
It's fantasy... I get it.

The story behind this write of a mother's nightly bedtime stories filled with dire, dangerous dragons and spiritous sprites read to her daughter was well conveyed.
The rhythm and rhyme were wonderfully well done also.

I'll lay you ten-to-one odds that you're a HUGE Game of Thrones fan, just like me.
Well done...

A spectacular poem from beginning to end. I loved the beginning with the "Once upon a Time" line with magic and fairies. Truly the Land of Sleep can be a magical place.

Well done.
Blessings
Janet

I love it. I love the words used. Good rhyme from start to end. You captured me from the start and I can't wait to read more of it. The images are just perfect for the words. It reminded me of those times when Mum used to read me stories and when I slept, I dream about all of them.
Fantastic read, I look forward reading more of your creation. Lovely. Thanks for sharing.

How lovely is your land of sleep! Magical fairies, castles, everything twinkling and glowing, I do believe I'd live there forever if I could. Lovely how this poem starts out too, from your mothers stories, blessings...

Hi Luna!

This poem is a sheer delight. Your quatrains are smooth in delivery with beautiful meter and rhyme. The transitions, with one line flowing into the next, are simple, yet masterful.

I thoroughly enjoyed this nod to the fairy tales of old.

Thanks for sharing!

Kim

Hi, Jeni. You have written some wonderful Quatrains here, my friend. From start to finish they are fantastic. Your images are superb, like:

"The mistress of the castle, she
awaited me to come and see
what she was spinning on her wheel ~
gossamer dresses, how genteel." (genteel indeed)

The font is much better by the way. thanks so much, Bob

I thoroughly enjoyed reading this poem. You captured me in the first two lines and I couldn't wait to read more.

The verse is light and the rhyme is consistent and unforced. The images are common to many (so easy to relate to). The idea of a king who will slay dragons for you makes the fairy-tale complete. And the last two lines tie up the story well.
