You are a good poem. I don't think I've read a lot of your poems. This one tells the story of what happened that day quite well. I'm glad you decided to repost it.

Sally Law the blind lady in here reminded me it was the Anniversary of 911 (in your neck of the woods anyway) so I decided to get this out for another airing again as so much applied to Australia as well. Thanks for coming by.

I just watched a two-hour special and became aware that there was SO much I didn't know. Yes, people have a tendency to wonder why it took so long to get Bin Laden. I'm just glad they DID get him. You have included many specific details about this horrific event.

A fine poem, written way way back when we were all taken by surprise, they attacked in the middle of the when when one least expected it, people willing to deem hypnotised by hatred I suspect. Beautifully done bro, nicely rhymed and written, such a bad time. Well done, blessings, Roy

This is excellent writing. So touching so sad as you said so many lives lost makes you cry. Such a shocking event. Yes the memory of that day is quite vivid in my mind when I heard the tragic news of the world trade centre. Very well put together portrays such empathy.

Sankey I read your prompt entry for the contest, you did an excellent visual scene with your words. I like how you in your words of how you described the tragedy as
Nothing Like This Before.

Gert, thanks. No contest anymore, but Sally Law the blind lady in here, reminded me of the anniversary and thought it good to put it up again. I had a good picture I got from Fanart before but it disappeared.

Sankey
You are welcome
Well I saw you excellent display of the destruction.

This is a sobering write for the day for sure. The pictures portray the horror of the day as well as your words. Your words do also relay the hope that this kind of thing will not happen again.

You did a good job with the contest prompt, Sankey. Your lines flow smoothly with good rhymes and a sad, but true story. Your presentation looks great. Thanks for sharing. Best wishes. Jan

Thanks Janny Pan it was a prompt ages ago. I found this great picture just yesterday on Wikipedia after the Fanart one disappeared. Ian Thorpe one of our former Aussie swimming Champions is the guy that changed his mind about going into the WTC. My favourite Prime Minister John Howard was the one speaking at the Hotel down from the Pentagon on that fateful day, as well.

A good entry to the contest. You have balanced the tragedy of the event against the relief of those who could well have been involved, but for a happy turn of fate. There are, as you point out, many unanswered questions.

Hi friend no contest for this one these days. Appreciate you coming along. There was a good picture I got but it is gone now.

Interesting! I have no technical notes, and I don't live in the West so it's not a perspective I usually think about in terms of the world trade center attacks. Thanks for sharing, I didn't know anything about the Australians that were (almost) involved!

Thanks, new friend. I wrote this a while ago. I just thought it was a good time to get it out again seeing some of our own were very close to all of it.

Mistakes made accumulated but you cannot argue with a mad man or terrorist as they are capable of anything, they are to be greatly feared, and the result was carnage. An event that changes America forever and I hope it is never repeated anywhere in the world, my thoughts are with the families who lost their loved ones, poignant words, love Dolly x
